With apologies to Elizabeth Barrett Browning...
How do I refuse to vote for thee? Let me count the ways.
I refuse to vote for thee to the depth & breadth & height
My soul can reach, when feeling out of touch
For clinging to my guns and religion, bitter.
I refuse to vote for thee to the level of the PUMAs'
Most fanatical supporter, by all that is fair and just.
I refuse to vote for thee freely, as is my right.
I refuse to vote for thee purely, without being hypnotized.
I refuse to vote for thee with the passion of John Edwards's mistress.
In my old griefs, and with the primary's theft,
I refuse to vote for thee with a love of the true
Democratic process--I refuse to vote for thee with the breath,
Smiles, tears of all my life. And, if voters choose,
I shall refuse to vote for you again in 2012.
OK. I'm not a poet, and we all know it. But just to make things clear...I am not a fan of John McCain. My vote is a vote against BObama and the DNC. And since the DNC is not on the ballot, I'm thumbing my nose at them with this vote. Don't be cryin' to me about the platform. I survived 8 years of Republican rule since My Man Bill, and I can survive 4 more. And I don't really think McCain will be more of the same. Not exactly. While I do not agree with several of McCain's policies, I would rather suffer through economic hardships than be afraid I'm going to wake up dead one morning due to the namby-pamby wishy-washy foreign policy of BObama.
Let's get right to the specific details of yesterday's 49 reasons.Axelrod, Gibbs, and Burton are sarcastic, condescending spokesthugs.
A campaign that spent $700,000 on lighting BObama for a speech IN DAYLIGHT in Berlin should not throw stones at Sarah Palin's $150,000 campaign wardrobe. At least her wardrobe will last more than 25 minutes.
BObama is an arugula-eating elitist. He is not a man of the people.
For somebody who wants to be President, BObama sure spends a lot of time demanding to be left alone. Let him eat his waffles, take his kid trick-or-treating, visit his dying granny (hey, looks like she's going to make it to election day, huh), vacation in Hawaii with his family where they don't visit healthy granny. But make sure he's
not alone to visit a military hospital overseas.
BObama sees women as objects to call 'Sweetie', pull out the chair for, and hug and kiss when being introduced by them, and kept silent and out of sight when not needed for sympathy (i.e. dying granny and illegal auntie).
Somebody who wants to be President should not flip the bird TWICE in the same part of two speeches in two different cities when referencing My Gal Hill, and clown it up when the crowd reacts. Or smirk about putting lipstick on a pig.
Speaking of birds, let's consider that saying, "Birds of a feather flock together." Look who's in this President-wanna-be's aviary: Jeremiah Wright, Father Pfleger, Tony Rezko, William Ayers, Bernadine Dohrn, Rashid Khalidi, Frank Marshall Davis, Michelle, 'Mean Country' Obama, and endorsements-for-hire Bill Richardson and John Edwards. If that's not enough to make you run away screaming, "THE BIRDS! THE BIRDS!" then you are pulling the wool over your own eyes.
Holding that thought, consider the leopard, who cannot change its spots. And the duck, who walks like a duck and talks like a duck. It is my belief that BObama also
eats duck, the fancy French Chef variety, as it is something an elitist would eat, and not regularly served on tables of the bitter, prayin' gunclingers, UNLESS they happened to use those guns for duck-hunting. If these are the kinds of people sought out by BObama, as he mentioned in one of his own books, then how can we not see him striving to be like these people? Outside looking in are ACORN registering dead people and 7-year-olds and fighting for the mentally-ill vote to complement the locked-up-in-prison vote. Is it just me, or are there some things that must be forfeited if you can not function in society?
The dealing of the race card at the drop of a hat bothers me. Of course, BObama did not do it himself. That's what he had his spokesthugs do for him. Is he going to hide behind the victimhood cloak of racism if another country criticizes him? Anybody who does not choose to vote for him is automatically branded a racist. Or deemed ignorant or bitter, or investigated by government agencies without cause, and ridiculed for daring to ask The One a question when The One is the one who sought him out to ask the question in the first place. If you see what I'm sayin'.
What demographic, exactly, is that 'tax cut' going to help? The last I heard from that campaign, anybody earning over $120,000 is rich! They most certainly should patriotically spread their wealth around. Except for BObama, who gave an embarrassingly low percentage of his income to charity. Charity like Reverend Wright's church, and a dance troupe. But nothing to his shack-dwelling brother and his publicly-housed illegal alien aunt. He is not his brother's keeper, this BObama. I suppose his church taught him differently.
That infomercial, paid for with 'broken promises', as Grandaddy McCain put it, was SUCH a waste of money. Do you know how many clothes that $3 million could have bought Sarah Palin? She could have increased her wardrobe 20-fold! BObama's shack-brother's descendants could have lived for eternity on that $3 million. His illegal-alien aunt could have flown back and forth to Kenya every weekend.
For somebody who's supposed to be so smart, BObama sure is a know-nothing. He didn't know about any of that hateful stuff preached over 20 years by Reverend Wright, or about Father Pfleger's attitudes, or Tony Rezko's dealings, or that Bill and Bernadine used to try to blow up people, or that Khalidi might not be the most savory associate, or where his actual birth certificate is, or that his aunt was living illegally and destitutely in the U.S. But he DID know that Frank Marshall Davis was a communist. That's why he sought him out.
I am still waiting to see what BObama has really accomplished in his career. I look to Illinois, and their gasohol that is really not so good for the environment, it seems. And the Chicago city schools, and Chicago politics, and the money BObama steered to his wife's employer, and I do NOT see a shining city on a hill, full of hope, changed beyond recognition when The One was elected to the senate. If I had seen some change, I might have been able to believe in The One. But it looks like business as usual. Politics as usual.
BObama himself might have our best interests in mind. He might be a really good guy who loves this country and wants it to be a leader in the eyes of the world. But he has surrounded himself with the dirty birds in his aviary, and now they are coming home to roost.
He's just another politician.
