Mrs. HM Hits The Injured Reserve List Again

Don't worry. My injury is not debilitating. In fact, I could probably take a shot of whatever they give professional athletes to play hurt, and keep up with my daily routine. It doesn't even hurt, really. I only noticed it by accident.

Whiling away the ticking minutes, waiting at the car salesman's desk during the purchase of Farmer H's new used truck, I noticed a bruise on my hand! Funny how I didn't notice dry skin on my wrist. Seriously! I used lotion a couple hours before. How does this happen? I'm beginning to think that it's WRINKLES I'm seeing, rather than dry skin!

Anyhoo... I don't know the etiology of this injury. It's not like there was a moment when I dropped a concrete block on that hand, and thought, "That's gonna leave a mark!"

I can pretty much rule out this bruise being caused by my Sweet Baboo holding my hand too tightly on the way to the malt shop. I haven't been hooked up to an IV in years. I don't have Genius riding shotgun in T-Hoe any more, randomly grabbing my hand, squeezing as hard as he can, saying, "Does this hurt?" I haven't gotten into a tussle with a frat boy at a casino. I haven't been handcuffed for public urination. So I don't know why I have a bruise.

Don't worry. I never once considered NOT SHARING it with you!

  1. As I've gotten older I've noticed bruising on my hands. I don't remember hitting anything & they don't hurt. Of course, you're much too young for that to be YOUR reason!!

  2. fishducky,
Sure, I'm just a spring chicken! I think my daily aspirin has a lot to do with my bruising.

  3. Definitely wrinkles. I use truck loads of lotions and creams and still my hands look like they are 85, while the rest of me is only 66 and less wrinkled.
I sometimes notice bruises that I don't remember getting. If they hurt when I touch them, I know I must have bumped into something.

  4. River,
Some days I feel like a Shar Pei. Even have a cold wet nose!

  5. I slather my crepe paper skin with creams and lotions, but still it looks all wrinkled and bruised from what I will never know!

  6. Kathy,
I just whacked the back of my hand on the corner of my lair-desk last night. Instant bruise. I might spare you the sight. Your comment reminds me of how The Pony said they were going to decorate something at school with CREEP paper! He's not very worldly, my little Pony.
