SilverRedO Is Revived. Temporarily.

After the kerfuffle at the Devil's Playground automotive center, Farmer H took his business to Rural King to get a battery for SilverRedO. He spent $100.49. Said it was $45 cheaper than it would have been at the Devil's Playground.

Farmer H put the battery in by himself. He's handy like that.

THEN, The Universe smote Farmer H for some unknown reason. On Tuesday, SilverRedO had an issue. Totally unrelated to the battery. Farmer H was headed back to town to mow some lawns (Pony House and the flips), when SilverRedO went into LIMP mode. Only went 5 miles per hour.

Farmer H said that mode is to enable the driver to get the vehicle off the road when something happens. He thinks it's a "throttle body position." Whatever THAT is! Said he was going about 20 mph down his formerly badly-blacktopped hill, and only 5 mph when he turned around to bring sick SilverRedO back home.

Farmer H will run a diagnostic program on SilverRedO, to see if it's something he can fix. Otherwise, SilverRedO is headed to Mick the Mechanic's shop for repairs.

  1. It may be related to the battery change. I was warned at the dealership to never change the battery except at the dealership or qualified service center due to the massive electronics. They put some thingy on it to preserve settings while the battery is being changed. New vehicles have become a wonderland (nightmare) of electronics. I have a 2018 Navigator. So, not even so new..

  2. Pudge450,
Farmer H has a little gadget I originally got to check T-Hoe for issues that that came up in the warnings. T-Hoe is a 2008, and SilverRedO is a 2012. Farmer H used it on SilverRedO and then cleared the warnings. He started up SilverRedO, which seemed to work again like normal. Farmer H said SilverRedO has done this before, and then worked normally. Still, he plans to take him to the dealer to get checked out. Mick the Mechanic told him some possible problems, which Farmer H says are high-dollar jobs that might not be the issue. He is losing trust in Mick the Mechanic.

  4. River,
SilverRedO is currently working, having just left the front yard/field of the Mansion, pulling a lawnmower trailer to town.

  5. I hate it when that happens! We just got the mower back, that went in for a belt that keeps coming off and today it happened again! That robo mower went back for a refund and I refuse to mow the area that is our responsibility with my tiny push mower! My mower is for my tiny yard and not meant to walk up and down an incline full of holes and rocks.
