Mrs. HM helped Farmer H with a phone problem!!!
As we all know, Mrs. HM is a technology simpleton! How could she possibly know enough to assist Farmer H with such a matter? Surely this is a sign of the upcoming Apopadopalyspe! That's what Farmer H calls it, anyway. Most people just settle for Apocalypse.
Anyhoo... Farmer H said his phone wouldn't ring. That he had missed several calls. I asked if he had turned off the ring. Or adjusted the volume. Nope. Farmer H likes his phone set at the maximum volume.
"What's the last thing you did with your phone?"
"Nothing. But on Christmas day, Genius was using it to set up the photo frame."
"What? Why did he need YOUR phone to do that?"
"I don't know. He just did. Maybe it was something about the Wi-Fi."
"Here. Just give me your phone. Pull down from the top. It says the sound is on. Go to this little gear thingy. The settings. Look! The volume is turned down to almost nothing. Here. Adjust that. Now you know how to fix it."
"Call me so I can see if it works now."
I did. It did.
You're WELCOME!
IRONICALLY, Genius needed Farmer H's advice on Friday, when he had a tire blowout an hour out of St. Louis, on the way home to Pittsburgh. Genius called ME.
"Is Dad home? We had a blowout, and I'm waiting for AAA to get here. I want to know if I can drive on the spare, or if I need a new tire."
"Is it a full-size spare? Even if it is, I'm not sure that would be good for such a long drive. Dad is in his storage unit store."
"Oh. The metal building. Okay."
"You could ask the AAA guy about it. Or call your uncle. I would say the problem might be Dad's phone without sound, but I already fixed that for him..."
"Heh, heh!"
Yeah. Even Genius knows that I know nothing about electronics. He didn't confess to messing with Farmer H's volume, though. And yes, Genius and Friend got a new tire, and made it home safe to Pittsburgh by 8:00 p.m.

Congratulations on fixing the phone. I hate hearing about blowouts. I watch too many movies and when there is a blowout there is usually a terrific disaster from that with cars or trucks rolling and crashing and bursting into flames. Very glad that didn't happen to Genius and friend.
River,
Genius was unlucky to have the blowout, but VERY lucky to be able to control the car. In addition, they were only a mile away from a rest area, so Genius drove there so they were not waiting on the side of the highway for AAA.
Turns out the spare was NOT a regular tire. Just good enough to get to the next town, and get a proper tire that was suitable for the next 540 miles of the trip!
