When The Pony came out last Thursday to help with pre-preparations for our Easter Dinner on Good Friday, we didn't want to deal with making regular food for our lunch (or Farmer H's supper). The plan was to pick up Chinese food on the way back to the Mansion. It's on our route, and opens at 10:30. So it was easy to get my banking and T-Hoe gassing errands done, and grab lunch at 11:00.
I put mine and Farmer H's in FRIG II for later. The Pony ate a regular lunch (which I don't) around 1:00. Well. That's when The Pony set up lunch on the marred coffee table in the living room. The eating was done intermittently, while coming to the kitchen to fetch things for me. It's a big help.
The Pony had Orange Chicken, with white rice and crab rangoons. I believe the drink is rum and sparkling apple juice.
I had the Chicken and Broccoli. It came with white rice, which I gave to The Pony. It smelled FANTASTIC! I wished I had time to eat it right then, but one quick bite, and I saved it for supper after I took The Pony back home at 4:00. I don't know why they put carrots in my Chicken and Broccoli. Maybe that's a thing? I don't really like carrots this way. But I ate them. I wish the picture wasn't out of focus.
Farmer H got the lunch special, which came in a bigger container, with fried rice, and a crab rangoon. It was Hunan Chicken, and smelled every bit as delicious as mine, even though I don't like spicy food.
It almost makes me want to spend two days preparing a big dinner again, just to get Chinese, heh, heh! Although we could get it any time.

I love crab Rangoon. And I love chicken and broccoli, although I think the beef and broccoli is even better. Here they load it up with lots of celery too, which I love. We don't get Chinese food very often due to cost and high sodium, but this has me craving it now. Ranee
Rae,
Sorry about the craving! I'm glad they don't put celery in my chicken and broccoli. I don't like cooked celery.
I really wish there was a Chinese Takeaway near me, but there isn't. I've tried frozen versions of similar meals but they just aren't as good and I end up throwing half away.
River,
This one is really good. They have the best crab rangoons I've ever had. The price is good for the portions, and the food is not swimming in oil like the other place we sometimes go to. Though the other place has the best hot and sour soup, which I want when I'm sick. Too bad I haven't been sick in a while! No soup!
I love celery! The Man doesn't, so I always get his when we eat out. At home I either mince it too small for him to notice or leave it out. There was this little Chinese restaurant in MN. I like Cashew Chicken and they loaded it down with celery. My favorite.
Kathy,
I wish I could send you my unwanted celery. I pick it out of soup, and out of Chinese food. One of the places around here used to put it in the Cashew Chicken. I never ordered it again.
Of course, I was spoiled attending college in Springfield, where the Cashew Chicken is the best thing ever invented! It's even called "Springfield Cashew Chicken." It's in a thick gravy-like sauce, with just cashews and some green onion sprinkled on top. When I ordered Cashew Chicken elsewhere, I couldn't believe what they served me! It doesn't compare.
