The Unfortunate Series Of Calamities Continues

The Hillbilly family's streak of unfortunate calamities has extended to The Pony! It found him on Wednesday or Thursday.

"Sorry for all these texts, but my car's AC may or may not be working. I'll have to wait until I drive somewhere far enough away to give it enough time to get to where it would usually work, but yesterday at least it just blew hot air for like 15 minutes."

It's not the quantity of The Pony's texts that are a problem, but the quality. Instead of being one or two lines, each one is a complete War and Peace. Or, as Jerry 'informed' Elaine, the original title: War, What is it Good For? [at around 1:15 of this 2:43 clip]

"I guess Dad could come by and take a look at it."

"Except my car will be, yknow, at work."

"He will be one block away at the Senior Center having lunch!"

"As long as he can find it and, if he drives anywhere, park it back where it was."

Because, you know, Farmer H can't remember what The Pony's car looks like enough to notice it lurking among six other cars on the post office parking lot, and likes nothing better than to play pranks on The Pony by hiding his car...

"The AC could be fine, but it just felt weird that sitting there on max for so long it just kept blowing hot. He'll probably know better."

"Dad says he'll take it to your house to look at it, then put it back where he got it."

Farmer H says the compressor is not working. He bought some freon, but can't add it unless he resets something about the compressor, because it won't kick on if the freon is low, and won't know that the freon isn't low unless he resets that thingy. Or there might just be a bad fuse.

Anyhoo... The Pony is bringing his car out on Monday, I think. Farmer H needs a place where he can sit down on grass, and reach around on both sides under the dash.

Hopefully, he can get it fixed so The Pony doesn't have to pay for a new compressor, and drive A-Cad around while his Rogue is in the shop.

Oh, he can drive A-Cad around. What's the problem? You have nowhere to go, since you're retired.

(Perhaps the Pony's lack of selflessness came from YOU. You don't seem to want to share something that has no reason to function, day after day after day.)

Sioux,
Perhaps you are projecting, Madam! I have no objection at all to The Pony driving A-Cad. The Pony himself is the one who always turns down that option, like on the rare occasions he drives me somewhere. He prefers his tiny car, which is actually quite roomy on the passenger side for me. But it's like riding in a tin can.

I DO object to Farmer H driving A-Cad around, since he has SilverRedO for racking up the miles. Also, when he puts gas in A-Cad, he uses the credit card, rather than his weekly cash allowance. His reasoning is that A-Cad is OUR car. Even though he wants to use it for his "business" trips to the auction or his pawn shop dealer lady.

My daily trip to town is vital to keeping me off the ledge, what with all this FREE TIME on my hands, wondering how Farmer H will next try to kill me! If Farmer H hadn't taken me to town during T-Hoe's Unfortunate Shopification, I WOULD have driven A-Cad, scraping all the fresh flesh off my leg-hole scab, just to have somewhere to go, and scratchers to scratch.

No cooling A/C is not what The Pony needs in the type of heat you all are having up there right now. And it needs to be fixed toot-sweet anyway, because winter will return and The Pony will need his heating then.

River,
Farmer H got an appointment for next Wednesday. It's the earliest he could find, at the guy who used to work on my mom's vehicles, not too far from Pony House. At least The Pony has AC at home, and in some of his work vehicles. Like when he delivers packages, and gets a van.

Pony is so lucky! I can commiserate about the lack of air conditioning!

Kathy,
The Pony has more luck than Genius or Farmer H! At least he doesn't drive far, so the AC problem could be worse. Like yours!
