One good thing about Daylight Savings Time...it was still light when I got home at 7:40 p.m. after parent conference night. Not full daylight, mind you. A pinky purple pastel Easter egg light.
So many hours of conference time, so little parent interaction. I had three visitors. Of course, more may have shown up during my 90-minute dinner break in another area of the building. But they didn't sign in. Didn't sign in, didn't happen. That's what Mrs. Hillbilly Mom says.
I had a visitor within the first fifteen minutes. Another about 100 minutes in. And the last during the last ten minutes. In between, I accomplished some tedious and menial work. Not enough. But it's a start.
Now I'm off to rest up for tomorrow. My 4:50 a.m. wake-up call comes mighty early. And I hear there's a new cold front in town just for my duty day.

A cold front? Perhaps it will be a bitter cold cold front? Perhaps there will be precipitation with it...Maybe even some freezing rain--LOTS of freezing rain. And then snow--6-7 inches of snow.
I still have my snow chain hanging up, and I still have hope...
Sioux,
The problem is, we have a half-day for the students Thursday, another evening of conferences, and Friday off. There is snow in our forecast for Th-F-Sa-Su. That would horn in on my personal 44 oz. Diet Coke time.
