And They Have A Quadricorn

The #1 son is off to his prom tonight.

I'm sure he's having a good time. He modeled his black tux with the baby blue vest and tie. It's a perfect match with his date's dress, and also with prom colors this year. The theme is The Enchanted Forest.

He left the Mansion around 2:30 to wash his truck and bide some time at his grandma's house before picking up the little woman around 5:00. She does not like corsages, so he had one less step to obsess over. Their plans include going out to eat with part of their group at 11:00.

Several schools in Hillmomba are having proms tonight. I can't help but worry until #1 is safely home. He has a good head on his shoulders. I'm sure he'll be fine.

Won't he?

At least now there are cell phones if it gets to antsy. That should save some pacing or lying awake pretending you're asleep. Hope he comes home and regales you with great stories about his evening.

Oh my goodness he's old enough to go to prom?? Does that mean he'll be graduating next month?

I'll bet he'll be just fine and will have some material for you to blog on this weekend.

But to be on the safe side I'll send positive, safe vibes his/your way.

Yes, of course he'll be fine. He has a strong foundation--from all these years so far with you and Hick--and he has had millions of occasions to see the two of you make sensible, safe decisions. He is in complete control of his hormones, and is keeping his priorities straight.

Oh, wait. I forgot. We're talking about a teenaged BOY. Forget that stuff above. It was just said to make you feel better.

(Just kidding.)

Since they have a quadricorn then no harm can befall them, ya' know.

knancy,
Let's hear it for the quadracorn! He arrived at the Mansion, safe and sound, by 12:30 a.m. Didn't bother to regale me. His dad even waited up, and I heard them jawing for a minute. Then #1 cranked up the shower and retired for the night. Until noon today, in fact. Skipped church.

I was treated to a minor regaling in exchange for making a sandwich. No pictures with the amazing quadricorn, because all the kids soundly HATED it. The sponsor demanded that they make one. It was life-size, a silhouette, taped over the trophy case in the cafeteria. I was impressed.

He and some friends took their dates out to eat after the prom, and then he came home. I am proud of his decision-making.

Chick,
It was the Jr-Sr prom. So he's got another year to go. And he's bound and determined to get into a college that's up to his standards. Thus, the rational decision-making. He's got long-term goals.

Sioux,
EEEEEE! Good thing he's home already. I was starting to hyperventilate.
