Mommy Needs Some Germ-X

Okay. I stole the name of one of my long-time blog buddies, Mommy Needs a Xanax. I know she'll understand. We go way back. We were houseguests together in the Big Blogger House. She taught me all about the horror of waistboobs of the aunt variety. In appreciation, I shared pics of hot cabana boys with her. There's a record of all that nonsense somewhere back in one of my first two blogs. But the point, which I had when I started typing, is that she won't begrudge me the title.

While Mommy Needs has been taking care of her brand new bundle of joy, I have been busy taking care of my 105 new bundles of... joy.

I have picked up the sore throat runny nose bug from The Pony and the #1 son. Unless I picked it up at school, just breathing the same air as the students. Somebody shared it with me. I'm very careful with the hand-to-face transmission route. My illness started way up in the back of my throat, halfway to my right inner ear. Which makes me think I inhaled the toxin. It could have come from respiration in the hall during class change. It could have come from The Pony breathing in my face as I slicked his forelock down before we left for school.

But now I have the sickness. So I'm not very energetic. I may have been coming down with it for several days. That's my excuse for the short posts of late. And why I haven't been traipsing about the bloggyside, popping in to set a spell with my peeps.

I have some stories to tell. When I regain my strength. Maybe the long weekend will be good for what ails me.

Yuck. The sickness is starting early this year. You better be the first in line for a flu shot.

I have the same thing--got it from Gman who I assume drug it in here from the recirculated air of the plane! Ick! Tickle in the throat followed by sore throat, runny nose, coughing...and you are right--NO ENERGY!!!!

I hope you get your rest and recover!

Chick,
It's going through the school kids like grease through a goose. If you know what that means, being a birdy kind of gal. A goose is one fowl that we don't have here at the Mansion. But I don't think that greasy goose analogy is a good thing.

I'll be sure to welcome a flu stab when they become available. I generally get one in October. Don't want to leave myself vulnerable at the end of a long winter.

labbie,
It seems to be particularly virulent, though not severe. The kids don't miss much school with it. I am still ambulatory. The sore throat went away this afternoon, along with my taste and the ability to breathe through my nose.

Well, "Mommy Needs a Xanax" was inspired by your band, "Mommy has a Headache."

I'm sorry you have the funk. I seem only to get it really bad when I'm pregnant as I had the worst cold of my life when preg. with Charlie and the second worst when preg. with Andrew. Hopefully all that's done. Charlie goes back to preschool Tuesday, so he'll be sick by Thursday. I just hope the wee one escapes unscathed.

MommyNeeds,
We trade ideas around like viruses in an institutional setting!

I had forgotten about my garage band. Guess I need to polish up a few numbers in case opportunity comes knocking.

I had some kind of lung crud when pregnant with The Pony. It stuck with me from November to February. Robitussin can not hold a candle to my sweet, sweet Histinex.

Good luck with keeping your little sweet pea from catching the virus of the moment. Better have the nose-sucker handy, just in case.
